This Privacy Policy describes how the PubMerge application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac (“the App”) handles information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

PubMerge does not ask you to create an online account. The App may store the following locally on your device:

• Copies of .jwlibrary backups you import, so the originals stay unchanged.
• Temporary workspace files created while comparing, merging, or exporting.
• App preferences, such as the language you choose in Settings.

We do not intentionally collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details through the App.

3. How Information Is Used

Information stored on your device is used only to provide App functionality, such as:

• Importing, comparing, and merging backups.
• Letting you search, edit, or delete notes in the merged list.
• Exporting a new .jwlibrary file that you can restore.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not upload your backups, notes, highlights, or exported files to our servers. We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising or analytics.

Standard Apple system services (for example, the file picker or sharing sheet) may process technical data required for the App to function on your device.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete temporary files in Settings, reset the session, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored App data from the device in the ordinary course of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS operation.

6. Security

Original backup files are not modified. You may optionally encrypt temporary files in Settings. We use reasonable measures to help protect information stored on the device. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Independent Status

PubMerge is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any entity other than itself.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
